Mission
Statement.
Valley Makers Association seeks to create and sustain an educational environment where community members can collaborate, innovate, and create using information, resources, and equipment in order to foster creativity, art, and community involvement.
About
us.
VMA fosters the creative spirit by uniting a community of varying backgrounds with their love for creating through peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Since our founding in early 2015, VMA has developed and hosted numerous educational events by partnering with organizations like the Shenandoah Arts Council and Handley Regional Library System. These events allow members to present their current projects or ideas to the community, or learn a new skill from an instructor. Over 250 residents attended events during 2017 alone! Through these events, several community projects have also developed including the construction of Little Free Libraries for the Literacy Volunteers organization and others. VMA also facilitates youth-oriented camps in partnership with the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum every summer.
We’ll be expanding on this as we flesh out our new site.
